Dancer's Bar, Hilton Hotel, Terminal 4, Heathrow Airport - Illuminated Bar

The Brief:

We were asked to provide a lighting solution to the front of the Dancers Bar at the Hilton Hotel that would give the impression that the bar was "floating".

The Solution:

This bar was made up of 9 panels of a special product consisting of a thin veneer of natural stone, e.g. marble or onyx, which is then laminated onto glass. In order to produce the "floating" effect the client requested, we installed panels of Prismex behind the each veneered panel and then edgelit the panels with 450 white side-emitting LEDs. By using both Prismex and LEDs together with the laminated natural stone we were able to produce the "floating" effect that the client required.
